The ritual takes place at Pura Mengening in Tampaksiring, Gianyar, Bali. This historic water temple is known for its natural spring water and peaceful atmosphere, making it a special place to experience the traditional Melukat ritual.

Bring a change of clothes, towel, and a small bag for your personal belongings. Since you will enter the water during the purification, it is best to wear comfortable clothing.

Most visitors can participate, but Pura Mengening remains an active Hindu temple, so local temple customs and restrictions should always be respected. Your guide can explain what you need to know before entering the sacred area.

Photography may be possible in appropriate areas, but remember that Pura Mengening is a sacred place rather than simply a tourist attraction. Follow your guide’s advice and avoid taking photos during moments or in areas where it may be considered disrespectful.
